Association for Energy Affordability, Inc. (AEA)
Enawac is a business affiliate of the Association for Energy Affordability, Inc., a nonprofit organization dedicated to energy efficiency to improve the health, safety and comfort of building residents, especially to persons of low income. In furtherance of its mission, AEA provides energy technical services for both new and existing buildings; program design and implementation services for government and utility funded energy efficiency programs; and education.
With offices and training facilities in New York City, Emeryville CA, and Chicago, AEA supports the growth of the energy efficiency industry with certification training and continuing education courses helping students to earn and retain key industry credentials from NREL, the Building Performance Institute, Passive House Institute, Air Barrier Association of America, and others. AEA’s training programs for energy auditors and quality control inspectors are accredited by the Interstate Renewable Energy Council (IREC).
In New York, AEA develops and implements strategies that assist its Weatherization member agencies to maximize the impact of their program dollars through activities that leverage funds to provide more comprehensive upgrades in more buildings, serving more individuals.
ENAWAC collaborates closely with AEA and its member agencies to ensure that energy savings targets are met.
